*THE CREW*
I had the opportunity to photograph some amazing athletes last evening. It started with a simple session of experimenting with off camera strobes and evolved into a forgotten love of my craft.
My husband, Bill and I met photographer and good friends Ronnie Ruiz and Amy downtown near the skate park. After my brief encounter in front of the camera, I suggested we invite some skaters to sit for some portraits. So like the pied piper with his musical pipe I attracted five eager young people to demonstrate their “mad skills” for our lenses. I wish I could articulate in words how great these kids were. Not only were they completely fearless but also so encouraging of each other and were passionate about what they do. They weren’t posers trying to fit in, but were genuine and simply loved skating. They took my breath away!!
What I learned… shoot for me, be genuine, love what I do, practice every free moment and learn from my falls, be an encourager, and most importantly share my passion with others.
Be sure to check out Ronnie’s post as he has some rock star images of this crew as well!!!

Wow, these are fantastic. The images show fearlessness from both photographer and subject. These belong in a high gloss mag!
